The results

This Cupra Formentor now makes 370hp, up from 310hp as standard: 60hp more, an increase of around 19%.

Torque rose from 400Nm to 470Nm (+70Nm), which is what you feel most in everyday driving: stronger pull from low revs and easier overtaking.

What the work involved

Stage 1 is calibrated for a car with standard hardware. By refining boost, fuelling, timing and torque requests within the engine's safe limits, it delivers stronger, smoother acceleration and sharper throttle response.

The gearbox was tuned as well. A gearbox calibration raises the transmission's torque limits to suit the engine and can sharpen shifts and response, so both work together as one package.
