BMW X5 G05 xDrive30d Stage 1, Gearbox Tune & MD1 Unlock

This BMW X5 G05 xDrive30d went from 265hp and 620Nm to 330hp and 720Nm with our Stage 1 ECU calibration, a gain of 65hp and 100Nm, plus a gearbox calibration and an MD1 ECU unlock.

B57 diesel with room to spare

The G05 X5 30d already delivers strong torque from its B57 3.0-litre diesel, but there is plenty of scope in the factory calibration. Stage 1 sharpens throttle response and strengthens the mid-range, making the X5 more responsive and effortless to drive while keeping its smooth character.

Gearbox calibration

The gearbox was calibrated to match the extra torque, with optimised D and S shift points, faster shifts, quicker paddle response, optimised torque converter lockup, torque limits raised to suit the tuned engine and gear display activation.

MD1 ECU unlocked for OBD programming

This G05 runs a Bosch MD1CP002 ECU. It was first unlocked on the bench with AutoTuner to open up OBD reading and writing, then calibrated through the diagnostic port. Future updates can be done through the OBD port without removing the ECU again.
