We recently carried out a bespoke Stage 1 ECU calibration and gearbox software optimisation on this BMW X5 30d, unlocking additional performance from BMW's renowned 3.0 litre six-cylinder diesel engine while retaining the refinement, comfort and effortless long-distance cruising characteristics that make the X5 one of the benchmark luxury SUVs.

The combination of engine and transmission tuning transforms the driving experience, delivering stronger acceleration, improved responsiveness and considerably more usable performance throughout the rev range without compromising everyday usability or reliability.

The Stage 1 ECU calibration delivers a substantial increase in both power and torque, with noticeably stronger mid-range performance, improved throttle response and significantly more effortless acceleration.

The additional torque allows the vehicle to pull harder from lower RPM, making overtaking, towing and motorway driving feel considerably easier while reducing unnecessary downshifts during everyday driving.

Despite the increase in performance, the vehicle retains the smooth power delivery and refinement expected from BMW's six-cylinder diesel engines.
