The results

From 231hp as standard to 305hp, the 530d E61 gained 74hp, roughly 32% more power.

Torque rose from 500Nm to 640Nm (+140Nm), which is what you feel most in everyday driving: stronger pull from low revs and easier overtaking.

What the work involved

This was a Stage 2 calibration, written for a car with supporting hardware such as intake, intercooler or exhaust upgrades. With the engine breathing more freely, the software can safely ask more of it than a Stage 1 map.
