About this job

The results

This BMW 335d now makes 365hp, up from 286hp as standard: 79hp more, an increase of around 28%.

Torque rose from 580Nm to 730Nm (+150Nm), which is what you feel most in everyday driving: stronger pull from low revs and easier overtaking.

What the work involved

Stage 2 builds on Stage 1 for cars with supporting hardware such as an upgraded intake, intercooler or exhaust. The calibration is written around those parts, so the extra airflow is put to good use within safe limits.

How we carried it out

  • Diagnostic scan for stored faults before any work
  • Stabilised power supply connected while programming
  • Original software read and saved, so the car can be returned to standard
  • Calibration written, then the car checked again afterwards
