BMW F80 M3 Stage 1 & DCT Calibration (July 2026)

This BMW F80 M3 went from 431hp and 550Nm to 500hp and 680Nm with our Stage 1 ECU and DCT gearbox calibration.

Smoother at low speed too

As well as stronger acceleration and sharper response from the S55, the calibration reduces the common low-rev hesitation and kangarooing at low speed, making the car smoother day to day.

ECU and tools

This car has a Bosch MEVD17.2.G ECU and was calibrated through the diagnostic port with AutoTuner, with the ECU and gearbox software backed up first.

The results

Power went from 431hp to 500hp, an increase of 69hp or around 16%.

Torque rose from 550Nm to 680Nm (+130Nm), which is what you feel most in everyday driving: stronger pull from low revs and easier overtaking.

What the work involved

A Stage 1 remap is a software calibration for an otherwise standard car. We refine parameters such as boost, fuelling, ignition timing and torque limits within safe margins, so it pulls harder through the mid-range without any hardware changes.

The gearbox was tuned as well. A gearbox calibration raises the transmission's torque limits to suit the engine and can sharpen shifts and response, so both work together as one package.
