The results

This BMW F82 M4 now makes 550hp, up from 413hp as standard: 137hp more, an increase of around 33%.

Torque rose from 550Nm to 730Nm (+180Nm), which is what you feel most in everyday driving: stronger pull from low revs and easier overtaking.

What the work involved

Stage 2 builds on Stage 1 for cars with supporting hardware such as an upgraded intake, intercooler or exhaust. The calibration is written around those parts, so the extra airflow is put to good use within safe limits.

The gearbox was tuned as well. A gearbox calibration raises the transmission's torque limits to suit the engine and can sharpen shifts and response, so both work together as one package.
