BMW 440i and M440i generations we tune

Factory figures vary by market and year. We confirm your car's exact ECU and software before quoting.

F32/F33/F36 440i (2016–2020)

B58 3.0 turbo straight-six, 326hp and 450Nm.

G22/G23/G26 M440i (2020 on)

B58 with 48V mild hybrid, 374hp and 500Nm. Most need an ECU unlock first.

What a remap does on the 440i and M440i

The 440i has a lot left in reserve. From 326hp and 450Nm, our Stage 1 targets 420hp and 600Nm, Stage 2 455hp and 650Nm, and Stage 2+ 475hp and 730Nm. Stage 2+ requires an upgraded high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) and compatible supporting modifications. Figures are approximate targets and depend on the car's condition, fuel quality and supporting hardware.

The G22 M440i usually needs an MG1 ECU unlock, which we do on site before tuning.

Gearbox tuning

Both use the ZF 8-speed automatic, which we map for higher torque limits and sharper shifts.

Common questions

Can the 440i go beyond Stage 1?

Yes, with supporting hardware. Stage 2 targets 455hp and 650Nm, and Stage 2+, with an upgraded HPFP and supporting modifications, targets 475hp and 730Nm.

Does the M440i's mild hybrid system affect tuning?

No. The engine and gearbox are calibrated as normal; the mild hybrid system keeps working as it did.
