F87 M2 (2016–2018)
N55 3.0 turbo straight-six, 370hp and 465Nm (500Nm on overboost).
F87 M2 Competition (2018–2021)
S55 3.0 twin-turbo from the M3/M4, 410hp and 550Nm.
F87 M2 CS (2020–2021)
S55 twin-turbo, 450hp and 550Nm.
G87 M2 (2023 on)
S58 3.0 twin-turbo, 460hp and 550Nm, later 480hp. Newer ECUs may need unlocking first.
What a remap does on the M2
The N55 in the early M2 responds well to a calibration that firms up the mid-range, while the S55 Competition and CS engines have a lot of headroom in boost and torque. On the G87, the S58 is one of the strongest engines BMW has made.

On a car this short in the wheelbase, we calibrate for usable, progressive torque rather than a spike, so it stays predictable on a damp B-road.
Gearbox tuning
The F87 came with a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual; the G87 uses the ZF 8-speed or a manual. A DCT or ZF gearbox tune raises torque limits and sharpens shifts to match the engine.

Common questions
Can you tune the M2's DCT gearbox?
Yes. We tune the 7-speed DCT on the F87 and the ZF 8-speed on the G87, matched to the engine calibration.
Is the original M2 an N55?
Yes. The 2016 to 2018 F87 M2 uses the N55; the M2 Competition and CS use the twin-turbo S55 from the M3 and M4.
